With the coronavirus outbreak, many states and countries have issued a stay-at-home order. Shopping malls have closed, concerts and music festivals have been postponed, sporting events have been cancelled, the nightlife scene has been shut down and travel has been restricted. While having to stay at home is good news for some people, there are others that are going stir-crazy from boredom.
Just because we can’t leave the house doesn’t mean we can’t be living our best life at home! For those of you that aren’t sure what else to do at home, here are a few activities to keep yourself entertained, healthy and sane during quarantine.

Design Your Space
Whether you’re working from home and need a new office setup or have been procrastinating on your interior design goals, now’s the time to make those changes to your home! Design a workspace or home office so you can sit in those zoom meetings in comfort and in style. Start your work days right by hanging a piece of art or quote that will inspire you in the morning. Keep a planner or calendar around your desk to help you stay organized. If you aren’t working from home, utilize this time to hang new shelves, paint your walls, clean out and organize your closet, clean and disinfect your surfaces and catch up on those projects that you haven’t had time for!
Practice Self-Care
Practice self-care by maintaining your skincare routine, getting ready and putting on makeup! Just because we’re in quarantine doesn’t mean you can’t dress up. Create a new makeup look or treat yourself to a face mask and a bubble bath!
DIY Projects
Quarantine is the perfect time to put your creativity skills to use and make some cute DIY projects. Get inspiration by scrolling through Pinterest and save the ideas you love! There are countless projects you can make, but here are a few fun ideas: Tie-Dye your old clothes, towels, and blankets that need some spicing up, repurpose your old clothes by cutting them up and switching up their style, create your own candles, bath bombs, or bath salts, start a scrapbook and make your own face mask to wear outside!
Virtual Hangouts
Catch up with your friends and family by video chatting with them, hosting a zoom party and playing virtual games with each other! Whether you’re in your pajamas and drinking wine or dressed up and pretending you’re at a club, the possibilities are endless. You can even livestream a concert together and jam out to the music.
Binge TV Shows and Movies
Catch up on the tv shows and movies you’ve been meaning to watch but haven’t had a chance to by streaming them online! Between Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, Disney Plus and all the other streaming platforms online, you’re sure to find something you love. Rewatch your favorite shows, movies and classics in style by setting up your own home theater. Grab some popcorn, candy and a glass of wine as you’re sitting on your couch. You can even binge with your friends and family by hosting a Netflix or Zoom watch party!
Support Local Restaurants
Support your local restaurants and coffee shops by ordering takeout/delivery. Show love to your favorite restaurant by ordering food from them. This is also the perfect chance to eat at a new restaurant you’ve been wanting to try! Not only can you eat it from the comfort of your own home, but you also won’t have to make a reservation or wait for hours in long lines. If you prefer to cook, now is the perfect time to learn a new recipe! Whip up some Dalgona coffee, try out a new baking recipe or learn how to make your favorite gourmet meal.
Become A Bartender
Use this quarantine to become your own personal bartender and learn how to make some of your favorite cocktails! Stash up on your alcohol and test out your bartending skills. There’s even a quarantine inspired drink – the Quarantini! All you need is some vodka, honey, lemon, vitamin C and water.
Maintain Your Workout Routine
Maintain your workout routine by setting up a home gym or by live-streaming a workout online. You can find tutorials on Instagram or Youtube from your favorite fitness gurus! If lifting weights and push-ups don’t work for you, try out some yoga moves!
Quarantine Buddy
Need someone to do Zoom yoga with, play Xbox with, or even just to complain about quarantine with? Isolation can be very harmful mental health, triggering conditions like anxiety, depression. For many single people and people who live alone the most precious commodity these days is human contact. Get a quarantine buddy to lessen isolation.
Fresh Air
Get some fresh air by going for a walk, jog or bike ride around your neighborhood. Take in the sights around you and be sure to practice social distancing while you’re out. If you have a pool, soak up the sun while catching up on work, reading a book, getting your summer tan ready, or sipping your favorite cocktail. When you’re done relaxing, jump in!
