Spring break is already here and for some travelers, that means seeking out beaches and sunshine, however spring break shouldn’t break your bank. This is our roundup of the top 5 affordable spring break travel destinations.
Cancun
Cancun remains one of top go-to destinations for spring break. Massive entertainment venues, all-inclusive resort packages, miles of beaches and warm weather make Cancun an affordable spring break option for those looking to party internationally. Also, don’t miss out on the chance to view Chichen Itza, a large Mayan archaeological site that is one of the new Seven Wonders of the World.
Las Vegas
If you’re over 21, Las Vegas should be on your destination list. It’s one of the most popular destinations for girl getaways, bachelor parties, impromptu weddings and of course spring breakers. With temps in the 70s and 80s (perfect for daytime pool parties) and fewer tourists, spring is a primetime to head to Sin City. Plus, since this is a slower season, it’s easier to score affordable rates at some of the Strip’s swankiest hotels.
Punta Cana (Dominican Republic)
Thanks to a strong U.S. dollar and affordable all-inclusive resorts, Punta Cana is a budget-friendly option if your heart is set on a Caribbean spring break. Punta Cana is an emerging popular destination for spring breakers and rightly so. The DR offers everything you might want on a Caribbean break, without the sticker shock you might expect.
Miami
Florida’s reputation as the King of spring break still holds strong as one of the east-coast’s hottest spring break destinations. The beautiful beaches, food scene and celebrity-grade clubs that stay open until 4 a.m. make Miami a popular destination for spring breakers. Miami’s South Beach is catering more and more to students with cheap hostels and hotels popping up left and right. And while Miami is certainly not cheap, you get much of the fun, beachy vibe here – without the extra cost of a Caribbean-bound flight.
Austin
This destination is not necessarily what you think about when spring break comes up. However, its warm temperatures make it ideal for kicking back. Austin hosts South X South West and the Urban Music Festival in March, attracting tons of parties, events and college students. Plus, the warm weather and relatively affordable lodging and airfare rates make it an accessible and fun vacation for college coeds.During spring break, visitors can also hit up Downtown’s Six Street for delicious Tex-Mex, live music and bustling bars.
