The Angel Orensanz Foundation, housed in a Gothic Revival synagogue, was packed with Pandora listeners anxiously awaiting an exclusive concert from none other than John Legend. The ten-time Grammy winning, Columbia recording artist serenaded his fans with tracks from his brand new album, Darkness and Light, while still getting the crowd hype with his first hits such as Used to Love U and Ordinary People.
While masked in blue and purple lighting, Legend reminisced about his days living in New York City and the various apartments he lived in that were just a short distance from the faux decrepit event space. Much to fans pleasure, Legend softly played the piano while sharing the story of how he first met Kanye West and both failed when trying to shop his album to record labels. It was a story of triumph as he is now signed to one of the very labels that turned him down. The victory continued with Legend closing with Oscar winning hit, Glory.
