Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA) held its annual Los Angeles Builders Ball on October 13 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel. The Los Angeles Builders Ball raised approximately $800k for Habitat LA’s Building a Greater Los Angeles campaign, revitalizing distressed communities throughout Los Angeles and providing hope for low-income families living in substandard housing. Trammell Crow Company, Delta Air Lines and Mauricio Umansky were honored for their contributions to Building a Greater Los Angeles. Other celebs in attendance included Derek Fisher, Gloria Govan, Shanice Wilson, Tina Knowles-Lawson and Victor Ortiz.
The evening included a cocktail reception, dinner and live auction, with a headlining performance by Prince Tribute Band, featuring former Prince band members, that performed a set of classic hits including Purple Rain and 1999. All proceeds raised were donated to support Habitat LA’s work revitalizing neighborhoods and increasing access to affordable homeownership and home repair opportunities. Habitat LA has partnered with volunteers, donors and Habitat homeowners to build, renovate and repair more than 1,200 homes locally and worldwide since 1990.
