Deer Valley is a posh ski-only destination located just outside Park City. It’s ideal for winter enthusiasts with a bevy of lodging options, however the newest addition is the Goldener Hirsch, a modern luxury boutique hotel with an alpine village setting nestled in the heart of Deer Valley’s Silver Lake Village.
The $120 million expansion is connected to the iconic Austrian-inspired Goldener Hirsch Inn by a sky bridge marrying Bavarian old-world charm with modern luxury. Named after the Hotel Goldener Hirsch in Salzburg, Austria, the Goldener Hirsch Inn is Deer Valley’s premier small luxury hotel with a modern makeover.

Location
Located high on the slopes above Park City and just steps from the ski runs of Deer Valley Resort, the Goldener Hirsch features luxury accommodations, personal five-star service, and a renowned full service restaurant and lounge. The Goldener Hirsch Inn is only a short drive to Park City’s Historic Main Street, where the vibrant streets are filled with art galleries, charming boutiques and great restaurants.
Getting to one of America’s most elite ski towns this season is far easier than you think. Guests arriving via air this winter will be greeted by the new airport terminals at Salt Lake City International, a short one-hour drive in the old mining town of Park City. The baggage claim area even has a separate belt for checked ski and snowboard luggage. From most U.S. cities, take off in the morning and be schussing Deer Valley’s slopes in the afternoon.
Accommodations
The newly expanded Goldener Hirsch offers an exclusive, luxurious mountain experience with 40 new and modern luxury rooms featuring studios as well as one, two, three and four bedroom floor plans with approximately 570 to 3,270 square feet of living space. The hotel plush guestroom comforts accommodations include king beds, plush robes and slippers. Sophisticated interiors complement the modern architecture.
Amenities
Remove your skis or showshoes, step inside the cozy lounge for cheese fondue and a pint of Austrian beer, and you’ll be transported to another time and place. Amenities at the newly expanded Goldener Hirsch include a front lobby with check-in, valet & concierge, après-ski lounge, rooftop patio with pool and infinity hot tub, a fitness center, a ski/boot valet locker room with Aprés-Ski Lounge, cafe, shuttle into town, underground parking, a café and the renowned full-service Goldener Hirsch Restaurant.
Ski
Skiing in Utah certainly has its draws: perfectly-groomed slopes, spectacular views, wide-open terrain, attentive ski valets and some seriously good, consistent powder. A skier’s dream and just steps from the lifts, Goldener Hirsch offers year-round mountain access at the ski-in, ski-out property. That means you can go from your cozy, refined craftsman-style room to the top-notch slopes in a snap.
Deer Valley Ski Resort is one of a few resorts in America that is strictly for skiers (no snowboarding allowed!) and features some seriously luxe amenities. They have one of the largest ski schools in the country, ski valets to help you unload your gear, and provides complimentary tissue handouts at the lifts. Its free ski concierge holds your skis and poles overnight at the base of the mountain, the ski valet helps load and unload bulky equipment and a Cadillac shuttle service takes lodging guests to town.
Know that Deer Valley caps the number of lift tickets sold each day for optimal social distancing, so it’s best to pre-purchase tickets online in advance.
Food
The only thing that tops the extraordinary skiing experience is dining at the Goldener Hirsch Restaurant. The must-visit Bavarian-inspired restaurant dishes up Austrian specialties with a seasonal American spin. Locally sourced and organic ingredients offer finely crafted dishes.
House specialties include authentic Weiner schnitzel, spaetzle, porcini mushroom soup, hot-from-the-oven Bavarian-style soft pretzel knot, and apple strudel perfect for après-ski. They are particularly noted for their famous four-cheese fondue served in a communal pot with an attractive tray of bread and fruits. Enhance the visit with a selection from the award-winning wine list, a Wine Spectator awardee since 1995.
