The Genesis Invitational, the tournament formerly known as the Genesis Open, was an invitational-only field of the world’s best golfers, headlined by tournament host Tiger Woods at the historic Riviera Country Club last week. This year marked the event’s elevated PGA TOUR status by moving to an invitational format where Adam Scott won the title, taking home $1.6m plus an all-new 2021 Genesis GV80 SUV. Finishing in a 3-way tie for second place were Sung Kang, Scott Brown and Matt Kuchar. With Scott’s Genesis Invitational win, he moved to 16th in the PGA TOUR’s 2019-20 FedExCup standings and a projected position of No. 6 in the Official World Golf Ranking.
For the fourth consecutive year, tournament’s title sponsor, Genesis provided a premium experience for golf fans. Guests enjoyed numerous activities and public spaces that honored the game while showcasing the Genesis line of award-winning luxury vehicles throughout the tournament week including the flagship G90, G80, G70 and first-ever SUV from Genesis the 2021 GV80.
TGR Foundation was the primary charitable beneficiary of The Genesis Invitational, with proceeds from the event going to support the foundation’s college-access programs in Southern California.
