NASA celebrated the upcoming 50th anniversary of man’s first steps on the moon at the launch of Apollo 11: The Immersive Live Show on July 11 at The Lunar Dome at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena.
Apollo 11: The Immersive Live Show is an experience that is out of this world. Viewers will be taken on the ride of a lifetime as Ben, a retired NASA Aerospace Engineer, tells the tale of 400,000 individuals and what it took to accomplish this mission. The immersive live show is performed by 20 actors in a groundbreaking venue with a full 360 degree video projection, an orchestral score and life-size rockets. Audiences will be able to embark on this journey to the moon and back until August 11 in the spectacular LUNAR DOME at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California.
The premiere received a standing ovation as Charlie Duke and Buzz Aldrin joined the stage together. NASA Apollo 11 flight director Gerry Griffin, VIP NASA guest and celebrity guests Bill Nye, Nikki Sixx, Michael Campion and Rebecca Metz were also in attendance.
NASA also brings Apollo 11: First Steps Edition, a documentary that includes never-before-seen live video footage and audio recordings during the mission from Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, Michael Collins and the Mission Control Team, to the big screen at the California Science Center starting on July 15.
