Variety hosted its inaugural Path to Parity Summit on June 6 at The Jeremy Hotel in West Hollywood presented in association Karma Automotive and the American Heart Association. The women’s summit was timed to release of Variety’s Gender Equality Index Report documenting the number of female leaders across the movie, cable and broadcast television, digital businesses and talent agencies.

The one-day conference brought together a cross-section of thought leaders, talent, showrunners, producers and legal minds accelerating the advancement of women in the TimesUp era. The summit featured keynote conversations with Mila Kunis, Tyra Banks, Seth Meyers, Kenya Barris, Gloria Allred, and more with panel topics including Parity In the Writers’ Room, Know Your Rights – Fighting for Fair Treatment, along with Community, Advocacy & Entrepreneurship for Women in the Screen Industries. The discussions explored how the entertainment industry can move forward to achieve true equality for women in entertainment, executive suites, board rooms, on set, in the writers’ room and beyond.

More than 250 attendees enjoyed colorful discussions, networking, lunch, a cocktail reception and walked away with a gift bag filled with fashion and beauty products from luxury brands including Etienne Aigner, bareMinerals, gorjana, Anastasia Beverly Hills, and more. The gift bags were curated by Dayna Wolpa, Variety’s Director of Event Marketing.
