A milestone year, the 75th Annual Golden Globe Awards kicked off awards season at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Hosted by late night personality Seth Meyers, the star-studded event celebrated the best in film and television. Guillermo del Toro won best director for The Shape of Water. Gary Oldman won best actor (drama) Darkest Hour, while Saoirse Ronan of Lady Bird and Allison Janney of I, Tonya won best actress in a comedy/musical and best supporting actress, respectively.
The television categories were dominated by Big Little Lies, which won best limited series, and The Handmaid’s Tale, which was awarded best drama. Elisabeth Moss won best actress for Handmaid’s Tale, while Nicole Kidman, Laura Dern, and Alexander Skarsgard were all honored in their respective categories for their work on ‘Big Little Lies’. Sterling K. Brown won Best Actor in a Drama series and Oprah Winfrey became the first black woman ever to win the Cecil B DeMille lifetime achievement award and used her acceptance speech to give a searing rebuke of racial injustice, sexual abuse, and attacks on the integrity of the press.

BAFTA Tea Party
The British Academy of Film and Television Arts Los Angeles (BAFTA Los Angeles) celebrated the 2018 Awards Season with their annual Tea Party at the Four Seasons. The event treated award season nominees, celebrities and BAFTA members to British tea, scones, and cocktails in the uniquely relaxed surroundings of a traditional British Tea Party. Celebs in attendance included Issa Rae, Naomi Campbell, James Franco, Mary J. Blige, Jordan Peele, Nick Jonas, and more.
Gold Meets Golden Event
Los Angeles again welcomed some of the greatest athletes from across the world to celebrate during Golden Globes weekend. The fifth anniversary event also wished luck to the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games athletes, who will begin competing the following month. Celebs in attendance included Nicole Kidman, Allison Janney, Ricky Martin, Nick Jonas, James Franco, along with athletes and Olympians. The special occasion took place at the newly refurbished House on Sunset.

The Art of Elysium kicked off Golden Globes weekend by holding their 11th Annual Black Tie celebration, HEAVEN, at The Historic Barker Hangar in Santa Monica. John Legend was this year’s Visionary and actress, Shanola Hampton received the “Spirit of Elysium” Award. Celebs in attendance included Common, Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds, Vanessa Hudgens, Chrissy Teigen, Joaquin Phoenix, Rooney Mara, Abigail Spencer, Jurnee Smollett, and Stevie Wonder.
