It was a festive face-off in ping-pong for the fifth year at Clayton Kershaw’s 5th Annual Ping Pong 4 Purpose Celebrity Tournament at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles on July 27. The signature event benefited Kershaw’s Challenge, the non-profit organization led by baseball great, Clayton Kershaw and his wife Ellen.
Jimmy Kimmel kicked off the event as master of ceremonies with a special presentation of the Kershaw’s Challenge Impact Award honoring the Magic Johnson Foundation. A host of other celebs turned out for spirited competition and the inspiring cause including Casey Affleck, Jason Bateman, Jack Black, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Yasiel Puig, Jana Kramer, Haley Joel Osment, Danny Trejo, Luke Walton, and more! The night also featured live bidding on a one-of-a-kind rare plaque featuring autographs from Cy Young, Sandy Koufax, Don Newcombe, Fernando Valenzuela, and Orel Hershiser. Guests also enjoyed a silent auction and delicious bites.
Kershaw’s Challenge provides support to programs providing essential tools to empower underserved children’s health and growth. Proceeds for the event will benefit the Dream Center’s Foster Care Intervention program, which provides food, clothing, or other supplies for foster children returning home. Proceeds will also go to CURE International’s medical surgeries in the Dominican Republic for children with clubfoot, cleft lip, or other conditions.
