
The filmmakers and star-studded voice cast of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Zootopia 2” gathered at Hollywood’s El Capitan Theatre on Tuesday evening for the world premiere of the highly anticipated animated sequel.
Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman, who reprise their roles as rookie officers Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde, walked the red carpet alongside Academy Award winner Ke Huy Quan, Fortune Feimster, Patrick Warburton, Quinta Brunson and global superstar Shakira, who returns as Gazelle. Director and writer Jared Bush, co-director Byron Howard and producer Yvett Merino also attended, joined by composer Michael Giacchino.
Additional cast members in attendance included Nate Torrence, Bonnie Hunt, Don Lake, Stephanie Beatriz, Wilmer Valderrama, Alan Tudyk, Macaulay Culkin, Brenda Song, Maurice LaMarche, Raymond S. Persi, Josh Dallas, Tommy Chong, Tig Notaro, Amanda Gorman, Yvette Nicole Brown, Tiffany Lonsdale, Rachel House, Taylen Biggs and Mae Martin. Musical collaborator Blake Slatkin also walked the carpet.
“Zootopia 2” follows Judy and Nick as they find themselves in the middle of a new mystery when Gary De’Snake — voiced by Quan — arrives in the metropolis and sends the city into chaos. The investigation leads the duo undercover into unexplored corners of Zootopia, putting their evolving partnership to the test. The film also features Andy Samberg, Idris Elba and returning cast members from the 2016 Oscar-winning original.
