Clive Davis hosted the 2019 Pre-GRAMMY Gala and GRAMMY Salute to Industry Icons on February 9 at the Beverly Hilton. The invitation-only Gala is one of the music industry’s most prestigious events. The annual event hosts the industry’s top leaders and welcomes the world’s most talented artists to its stage.
This years star-studded event included performances by Travis Scott, Florida Georgia Line & Bebe Rexha, H.E.R, Rob Thomas, Ledisi, and Chloe x Halle. The long list of A-listers in attendance included Barbra Streisand, Angela Bassett, Dua Lipa, Kylie Jenner, Ellie Goulding, Ciara, Russell Wilson, Pharrell Williams, Rita Ora, Beverly Johnson, Charlie Puth, A$AP Rocky, Smokey Robinson, Quincy Jones, Diplo, LL Cool J, Robin Thicke and many more.
The gala also includes a presentation to honor industry luminaries through the Recording Academy’s GRAMMY Salute To Industry Icons Award. This year, the Recording Academy and Clive Davis honored Clarence Avant, music executive, entrepreneur, and film producer, with the coveted Salute to Industry Icons Award for his groundbreaking contributions to the music industry. Past recipients included Sir Richard Branson, Shawn “JAY-Z” Carter, Clive Davis, David Geffen, Berry Gordy, Debra L. Lee, and Antonio “L.A.” Reid.
