The LA Art Show kicked off its 24th year at the LA Convention Center with an Opening Night Gala on January 23. Kate Beckinsale and Gavin Rossdale hosted the star-studded event benefitting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Other celebs in attendance included Emma Roberts, Jessica Szohr, Lance Bass, Bailee Madison, Peyton List, Amy Smart, Brigitte Nielsen and Style & Society’s Kinya Claiborne.
Guests enjoy a cuisine by James Beard Award-Nominated Chef Jeffrey Nimer of Haute Chefs LA and Nick Shipp of The Upper West, along with desserts from celebrated local chefs Valerie Gordon. In addition to food, beverages, live music and art, gala attendees were given special sneak peek of the LA Art Show’s 200,000 sq. ft. of programming, featuring over 100 galleries from 18 countries. RISK’s bisected cop car, Scott Hove’s cake wall, Pip & Pop’s candy installation, Dosshaus’s Littletopia archway and the mirrored light sculptures at Melissa Morgan Fine Art proved to be huge hits with the gala-goers.
As the West Coast’s largest art fair, and one of the most diversely programmed in the world, the LA Art Show featured a comprehensive lineup of exhibitors not only in contemporary and modern art, but also classical and other specialized art scenes that often command their own dedicated shows. Every year, it attracts an elite roster of national and international galleries, acclaimed artists, highly regarded curators, and discerning collectors seeking the newest art within design, food, technology and travel being specific passion points.
