Los Angeles Confidential Magazine and Laverne Cox hosted the annual “Portraits of Pride” event celebrating the kickoff to Pride Month with GLAAD at the Montage in Beverly Hills on June 4. Portraits of Pride honors an illustrious group of people who make Los Angeles a progressive and prolific LGBTQ community including Pride honoree Wilson Cruz from Star Trek: Discovery.
Inside Los Angeles Confidential, Cox opens up about her rise to fame and how she has embraced her role championing important issues that affect the LGBTQ community. Cox says, “One of my favorite quotes that sums up how I feel comes from Brené Brown, ‘When you get to a place where you understand that love and belonging, your worthiness, is a birthright and not something you have to earn, anything is possible.’”
