Music is in 1800 Tequila’s DNA and last year brought partnerships with Vic Mensa, Masego and Chance the Rapper. In preparation for Music’s biggest night, we caught up with 1800 to whip up a few cocktails inspired by our favorite hip-hop/R&B artists and tracks. Best part, these cocktails will be featured behind the bar at some of Grammy’s biggest after parties in New York.

The Bodak Yellow “Candi” B
Inspired by her Best Rap Performance nod – this cocktail is equal parts sweet and sassy dedicated to the hard work and passion of the legendary Cardi B.
Recipe:
- 2 oz. 1800 Reposado®
- ¼ oz. Italian amaro
- 1 oz. lime juice
- ½ oz. agave syrup
- 3 slices of ginger root
- Top with soda
Directions:
Muddle ginger root in a shaker. Add remaining ingredients and ice, and shake hard for 10 seconds. Add roughly 1 oz of soda to the shaker. Double strain into a Collins glass, and garnish with skewed candied ginger.
The Big Bounce Back
Bouncing back with a nomination this year, this twisted cocktail is inspired by Big Sean’s epic lyrics are an ode to hard work and honesty – the twist ingredient, dragon fruit!
Recipe:
- 1½ oz. 1800 Silver®
- ½ oz. grapefruit juice
- ½ oz. simple syrup
- ½ oz. dragonfruit juice
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a shaker and add ice. Shake hard for 10 seconds. Double strain into a rocks glass and garnish with a grapefruit twist.
Magic of The Year
It’s gold that got him there so raising a cocktail to Bruno’s truly magical year was the inspiration behind this golden hued drink. Plus, it’s made with 1800 Coconut – an ode to Bruno Mars’ Hawaiian roots!
Recipe:
2 oz. 1800 Coconut®
¾ oz. Agavero® Orange Liqueur
¾ oz. lemon juice
¾ oz. pear juice
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Shake hard for 10 seconds. Double strain into a coupe glass and garnish with three pear slices.
