The Boxwood summer rooftop concept will return to The London West Hollywood just in time for summer. Debuting on May 30, the summer 2017 season of Boxwood on the Roof will feature fresh new menus, weekly programmed nights, and a revamped space designed for sharing and socializing. The new venue will offer sweeping views of Los Angeles and a playfully sophisticated vibe. The summer hangout will also feature a full array of social programming including “Rose All Day” Tuesdays, live music on Wednesdays, and “Game On” Fridays, featuring tabletop games. Brunch will be expanded to Saturday, while Sunday brunch will feature live jazz music.
Offering guests the perfect oasis for al fresco dining and mingling, Boxwood will feature imaginative new menus from Executive Chef Anthony Keene, with a redesigned lunch, brunch, and dinner menu. Known for his inventive and playful twists on New American cuisine while using the top trending seasonal ingredients, Chef Keene created a vibrant new menu that takes each guest on a gastronomic adventure with a summer menu reflecting the eclectic tastes of the hotel’s global clientele while remaining true to its relaxed modern atmosphere.
Highlights from the new menus include: brown rice bowl with a fried egg, grilled skirt steak and snap peas, chicken Caesar served in a waffle cone, Burrata with grilled peaches, cherries, tomato and za’atar, salmon with Meyer lemon confit and picholine olive tapenade, roasted spring Beets with goat cheese fritter and yogurt dressing, and more. Inventive desserts include Toasted Coconut & Rum Crème Brulée, sea salt and Butterscotch Budino, chocolate & strawberry jam “roly-poly” with freeze-dried strawberry ice cream, a selection of farmhouse cheeses, and more.
This year’s cocktail list is equally as imaginative, inviting guests to imbibe on concoctions inspired by iconic British rock bands. Signature cocktails include: The Behind Blue Eyes (The Who 1964), which mixes Stoli Blueberi with fresh mint, limes and blueberries, Hot Stuff (Rolling Stones 1976) which combines Sauza Tequila with fresh watermelon, jalapeno, lime and Prosecco, and Love Me Do (The Beatles 1963), featuring Grey Goose Le Melon, honeydew and lime. Sweet sips such as the Coco Almande Delight, the Cucumber Lemonade, the Lavender Mule, and the Blood Orange Caipirinha round out the list. To help cool off from LA’s hot summer days, Boxwood on the Roof will offer two kinds of shave ice, including Cucumber Cooler and Tequila Grapefruit, as well as sangrias, beers, and wines by the glass.
