Glamour held its 2016 Women of the Year awards ceremony on November 14 at NeueHouse Hollywood. Celebrating women’s achievements, the event honored innovators and newsmakers from across the worlds of entertainment, fashion, politics and business. Tracee Ellis Ross hosted the ceremony recognizing Gwen Stefani, Zendaya, Simone Biles, the three women- Patrisse Cullors, Alicia Garza, and Opal Tometi-who founded the #BlackLivesMatter movement and the Stanford sexual assault case survivor now known as “Emily Doe”. Additionally, for the first time in the 27-year history of the marquee event, Women of the Year also named a Man of the Year – awarding humanitarian and rock icon, Bono.
The evening also featured a star-studded list of presenters including Mindy Kaling, James Corden, Shonda Rhimes, Amy Poehler, Amber Heard, Freida Pinto, Gabby Sidibe, Joe Jonas, Rashida Jones, Anna Wintour, Yara Shahidi, Keke Palmer, Chelsea Handler and musical guest, Demi Lovato. Throughout the event, Kim Crawford Wines provided moments for guests to ‘raise a glass’ to the spirit of Women of the Year with their signature wine cocktail, the Glamour Slammer.
