Mel Gibson, Vince Vaughn, Andrew Garfield and Gene Simmons hosted the World Poker Tour (WPT) Foundation ‘Four Kings and an Ace’ Charity Poker Tournament on October 21 at Citizen Beverly Hills. Other celebs in attendance included Shannon Tweed-Simmons, Sophie Simmons, Nick Simmons, Kevin Pollak and WPT champion Scotty Nguyen, who enjoyed casino games and live and silent auctions.
Proceeds benefitted Mending Kids International, a California-based non-profit that formed in 2006 that provides life-changing surgical care to children from around the globe in need. Over the years, thousands of children have received corrective, transformational surgeries that have given them a chance at longer, healthier, and happier lives. Most of the surgeries performed correct congenital heart defects, orthopedic abnormalities, severe scoliosis, and significant cranial facial deformities.
WPT Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to utilizing World Poker Tour’s international platform to influence positive change on a global scale by supporting key charities. To date, WPT Foundation has helped raise more than $6 million to benefit global philanthropic organizations.
