Hollywood flocked to Beverly Hills to support the U.S. Fund for UNICEF and their mission to save and protect the world’s children at the sixth biennial UNICEF Ball at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons Hotel on January 12. The star-studded gala paid tribute to outstanding humanitarians for their philanthropic commitments and raised over $2.5 for UNICEF’s lifesaving children’s programs around the world.
This year, UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and soccer star David Beckham was honored with the Danny Kaye Humanitarian Leadership Award for his extraordinary support of UNICEF’s work to put children first, and President of the University of Southern California C. L. Max Nikias, who received with the Spirit of Compassion Award for his work shaping the minds of a generation of students to be philanthropic, globally minded, and informed of the issues that are affecting the world’s children.
Emceed by UNICEF Ambassador Angie Harmon, the evening featured a live performance by Mariah Carey, who performed “Always Be My Baby”, “We Belong Together” and “Hero”. Other celebs in attendance included Alyssa Milano and Selena Gomez; UNICEF Supporter Heidi Klum, Jennifer Connelly, Nicole Kidman, Miranda Kerr, Michelle Rodriguez, Sir Elton John, who presented to Beckham; and many others.
Presented by Louis Vuitton, the UNICEF Ball marked the launch of LOUIS VUITTON for UNICEF, a global partnership between the humanitarian organization for children and the luxury fashion house to help support children affected by conflict, disease, natural disasters, and other situations that threaten their safety and well-being.
