The YWCA Greater Los Angeles recognized three extraordinary honorees at its 14th Annual Rhapsody Gala on November 13 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel. The annual gala honored Debra L. Lee, Chairman and CEO of BET Networks with the Media Visionary Award, Tracy Underwood, National Manager of Toyota’s pioneering social impact division with the Corporate Champion Award and Los Angeles County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas with the Man of the Year Award. Each honoree received a glass award, along with a specially commissioned signed, limited edition Remarques, entitled “POWERFULL: YWCAGLA” by famed artist Synthia Saint James.
Benefitting the YWCA Greater Los Angeles, the Gala honored those who have given a voice to the voiceless and distinguished themselves in the community, through philanthropic and business initiatives that impact the advancement of the disadvantaged. The evening included a gourmet dinner, live music, spectacles and live auction, where guests also had the opportunity to participate in a live auction and bid on a weekend excursion in a Rolls Royce Ghost courtesy of O’Gara Coach Beverly Hills. Celebs in attendance included Kelly Rowland, Tia Mowry-Hardict, Tichina Arnold, Kathy Ireland and Jeanette Jenkins.
