January Jones Celebrates Oceana at 8th Annual Fundraiser for Restoring & Protecting the Oceans
January Jones, Kiernan Shipka and Jon Hamm celebrated the 8th annual SeaChange Summer Party in Dana Point on August 1 to support Oceana, the world’s largest ocean conservation organization. The event honored marine ecologist and National Geographic Explorer-in-Residence, Dr. Enric Sala, for his work to protect the world’s last pristine marine ecosystems.
The sold out event was held on the private beaches of The Strand in Dana Point with more than 400 guests in attendance who were treated to specialty cocktails, dinner and raised their paddles in both silent and live auctions. The event also included presentations from Oceana executives and celebrity supporters, focused on Oceana’s Save the Oceans; Feed the World campaign, which aims to restore the biodiversity and abundance of the world’s oceans to support a growing global population.
The international advocacy organization focuses on ocean conservation and seeks to win policy victories that can restore ocean biodiversity and ensure that the oceans are abundant and can feed hundreds of millions of people. Oceana victories have already helped to create policies that could increase fish populations by as much as 40 percent and that have protected more than 1 million square miles of ocean.
