Holly Robinson Peete & Rodney Peete Honored at 4th Annual ‘Champions for Choice’ Pre-ESPYS Celebration
Some of the greatest names in sports and entertainment came together in support of the 4th annual ‘Champions for Choice,’ pre-ESPY Awards dinner presented by the American Federation for Children. The event generates awareness and support for programs that give children access to a quality education, no matter their background, so every child has the opportunity to succeed. WNBA Hall of Fame star Lisa Leslie and NBA veteran Jalen Rose hosted the event, which honored actress, TV host, and philanthropist Holly Robinson Peete and her husband, former NFL quarterback, Rodney Peete.
The Pre-ESPY’s celebration was held on the rooftop of the Luxe Hotel in Los Angles and featured a live performance by Grammy Award winner Michelle Williams. Other celebs in attendance included Oscar Award-Winning actor Lou Gosset Jr, Marcellus Wiley, TV Personalities Hank and Kendra Baskett, Actress Elise Neal, TV host Shaun Robinson, NBA legend John Salley and Garcelle Beauvais.
The American Federation for Children is the nation’s leading school choice advocacy organization and works in states across the country to help secure additional, high-quality educational options for families. “My commitment is to children across the nation and I am happy to be a part of making a difference and education is key to keeping the doors of opportunity opened,” said host Lisa Leslie.
