Supporters of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) will celebrate the museum’s 50th anniversary with a special gala on April 18th, 2015. Proceeds from the evening, which will be co-chaired by LACMA trustees Ann Colgin, Jane Nathanson, and Lynda Resnick, will benefit the museum’s future programming and acquisitions. In honor of LACMA’s 50th anniversary, Nathanson and Resnick are leading a campaign to encourage patrons to donate significant artworks to the museum. Individually, both trustees are gifting significant works of art to the museum’s collection, including pieces by François Boucher, Jean-Auguste Dominique Ingres, Andy Warhol, and more.
At the gala, guests will enjoy a dinner prepared by Joachim Splichal (Patina Group) and Krug Grande Cuvée Champagne and have an opportunity to preview the diverse range of LACMA’s new gifts in a special exhibition, 50 for 50: Gifts on the Occasion of LACMA’s Anniversary. This exhibition will be on view to the public in LACMA’s Resnick Pavilion from April 26 to September 13, 2015.
