Super Deluxe hosted a live reading of “City Girl“ at ban.do penthouse offices in Hollywood, California on June 2. Creator and star, Sarah Ramos, was joined by Busy Philipps, Brittany Snow, and Rosario Dawson for the table read. Nick Thorburn, Dylan Gelula, Max Burkholder, Michael Angarano, Brendan Scannell, Vanessa Chester, Armen Weitzman, and Thomas Mann rounded out the cast. The happy hour event was as pink as the show itself, with pink champagne and pink Pop Tarts. During the event, Sarah Ramos spoofed David Lynch’s 2006 FYC stunt, only she stood with a decidedly fake cow.

The six episode “City Girl” seires is a surreal rom-com from the mind of a 12-year-old girl. When Sarah Ramos was still a pre-teen, she wrote the script about a young woman who has a career, migraines, and a complicated love life. More than a decade later, she turned that script into a reality with “Super Deluxe.”
