Bacardi brought the Sound of Rum and island vibes to the Governors Ball Music Festival this year at the Casa Bacardi onsite, and at the After Dark series in Manhattan June 2-4. Australian rapper Tkay Maidza performed a surprise encore at Casa Bacardi after her performance on the main stage. She brought the dance floor down and fans got the chance to get up close and personal with her for a thirty-minute set. She revealed she is working on a top secret project in Jamaica, adding that she’s “keeping the rum vibes going to Jamaica.”
Headliner Chance The Rapper also made a surprise appearance at the Bacardi stage when he popped up for group Francis and the Lights’ set in the afternoon. He later brought them out on the main stage, where they performed their collaboration “May I Have This Dance.” Acts including Rae Sremmurd and Rufus du Sol had the Bacardi stage packed with fans all day and night. Rae Sremmurd’s crowd was overflowing with attendees, as the duo played a host of their hit songs.
After a performance on the Bacardi stage, local Brooklyn DJ The Range, surprised fans for an intimate encore at Casa Bacardi. Just a few lucky attendees were able to enjoy a close up set with The Range, who sipped on Bacardi Tropical Punch out of a coconut during the set. Casa Bacardi, located next to the Bacardi stage, was a custom event space with surprise performances, cocktails, comfortable seating, and stage views from the roof. The newest flavor release from the brand, Bacardi Banana, was also served to attendees throughout the weekend in specialty cocktails.
