Rumble Yard, the artist driven original video content division of Sony Music Entertainment, and Astronauts Wanted jointly unveiled their 2017 slate of new and returning original series and partnerships at NewFronts in New York on May 11. Rumble Yard gave attendees a look into the captivating original programming the company is creating in video and VR for digital, TV, and film platforms utilizing Sony’s unrivaled library of music; while Astronauts Wanted displayed the company’s expansion of its branded entertainment division, which has created premium content for many new breed platforms including YouTube Red, Hearst’s Complex Networks and Fullscreen.
During the event, Roker announced that he will be fusing his love for cooking and music in the upcoming series “Turn Table,” which will bring together a top chef and top music artist in each episode to discuss commonalities between their art forms. The Chainsmokers also surprised guests with a special video message to discuss their upcoming project “Memories,” currently in production. The original program will give fans unprecedented access to one of the world’s biggest bands as they embark on a massive 40 city arena tour.
Singer/songwriter Grace VanderWaal (America’s Got Talent winner), performed her viral hit “Clay,” along with original songs from her debut EPPerfectly Imperfect and revealed details about her all new documentary JUST THE BEGINNING. Following the presentations, DJ duo and eyewear innovators, Coco & Breezy, brought the house down with their hip-hop influenced electro vibes.
