Complete List of Winners at 2016 American Music Awards

The 2016 American Music Awards brought out the biggest names in music Sunday night at Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theater L.A. Live. The awards, which were co-hosted by Gigi Hadid and Jay Pharoah, were full of show stopping performances — including John Legend’s emotional performance of “Love Me Now,” and Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj’s racy “Side To Side” duet. DJ Khaled was joined on stage by Nicki Minaj, August Alsina, Future and Rick Ross to perform their hit new song “Do You Mind”. Other performances included Fifth Harmony, Lady Gaga, Green Day, Bruno Mars, Shawn Mendes, Twenty One Pilots, The Weeknd, a special duet from and Maroon 5 featuring Kendrick Lamar, and “The American Music Award of Merit” honoree Sting.

At the American Music Awards, artists were honored in multiple musical genres. Pop/Rock, Alternative Rock, Country, Rap/Hip-Hop, Soul/R&B, Adult Contemporary, Contemporary Inspirational, Latin, EDM and Soundtrack, were some of the genres alongside the awards for Artist of the Year, New Artist of the Year Un-leashed by T-Mobile and Collaboration of the Year. This year, new categories included Tour of the Year and Video of the Year, while Favorite Song categories in the genres of Pop/Rock, Country, Rap/Hip-Hop and Soul/R&B were added in lieu of the Song of the Year category.

The American Music Awards “Artist of the Year” winner Ariana Grande will now get her own channel on SiriusXM in 2017. This artist-branded channel, created and curated by Ariana Grande, will showcase the artist’s musical catalog, including their biggest hits, music from their favorite performers, bands and more. Look for this new channel to hit the SiriusXM airwaves in 2017.
