Deborah Cox, Judith Light and Alyssa Milano, were among the celeb supporters at The Trevor Project 2016 TrevorLIVE NY Gala on June 13 at The Marriott Marquis in Times Square. The semi-annual fundraising ceremony recognizes The Trevor Project’s impact in suicide prevention and crisis intervention for LGBTQ young people and raises awareness about their lifesaving resources through an irreverent evening of music and celebration.
The Trevor Project Executive Director & CEO Abbe Land began the evening by addressing the crowd with a reflection on the tragic events that transpired in Orlando, followed by an awards presentation, where Marcus Mabry, Lead of the North American Curation Team for Twitter Moments, accepted the 20/20 Visionary Award on behalf of Twitter. The social media platform was recognized for publicly supporting the LGBTQ community and working to advance an empowering future-focused message for LGBTQ young people and their allies nationwide. Cole Ray Davis, a young trans activist and the main subject of Susan Sarandon’s Deep Run documentary film, was also recognized as a Trevor Youth Innovator and presented an award by Noah Galvin from ABC’s The Real O’Neals.
