Maestro Dobel Tequila unveiled Humito, the world’s first ever smoked silver tequila, straight from the hands of eleventh-generation distiller, Juan Domingo Beckmann alongside French-born hat designer and fashion icon, Nick Fouquet at an exclusive launch party on May 11 in Los Angeles. To commemorate the launch of this rare tequila, Fouquet who has custom designed hats for Madonna, Pharrell, Bob Dylan, Carine Roitfeld, Gigi Hadid and Sia gave an equally rare performance by showcasing his hat making method which involves smoke, fire and hand crafting much like Humito.
Celebs in attendance included Jane the Virgin star Jaime Camil who introduced him on stage before his performance which involved lighting a hat on fire, Supergirl actor Mechad Brooks along with the hit Starz show Power lead actor Omari Hardwick, who were all on hand to help celebrate the launch of the worlds first smoked tequila.
With cocktail and food pairings by the secretive celeb haunt No Name Bar, Mixologist Kate Grutman had guests savoring signature cocktails of Sola Summer, Smokey Negroni, Smoke on The Rise, and Let It Linger Margarita as Chef Jared Simon plated up modern Mexican bites, including Caldo de Camaron, Hamachi Tostada, Asada Tacos, Pork Belly “Chorizo” Tacos and Quesadillas.
