Celebrities, parents and hundreds of kids celebrated Safe Kids Day, presented by Nationwide, at Smashbox Studios in Culver City on April 24. Tons of celebs attended with their families including Drew Barrymore, Kelly Rowland, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Tamera Mowry-Housley, Mischa Barton, Tom Arnold and Donald Faison to shine a spotlight on preventable injuries, the leading cause of death to children in the United States.
More than 800 parents and kids played with Jack Hanna’s exotic animals, motored around in power wheels and played in a giant bathtub ball pit as celebrities and families joined together to celebrate kids, prevent injuries and save lives. Safe Kids Day is being celebrated at more than 220 events around the country to promote the prevention of childhood injuries.
The annual event raises awareness and funds to support the life-saving work of Safe Kids Worldwide with proceeds benefiting local, state and national injury prevention efforts of Safe Kids Worldwide. Since 1988, Safe Kids has helped reduce the U.S. childhood death rate from unintentional injury by 60 percent. For more information, visit Safe Kids Day.
