Lupus LA celebrated their 15th Annual Hollywood Bag Ladies Luncheon on November 17, at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles raising over $300,000 for lupus research, advocacy and patient support. The 2017 Women of Achievement Award Honorees were Cara Dellaverson, Senior Vice President of Drama Development at NBC, and Emily V. Gordon, co-writer and producer of this year’s break out hit The Big Sick. Celebs in attendance included emcee Paula Abdul, Terri Seymour, Lisa Gastineau, Shanna Moakler, Storm Reid, Kellie Martin, and more.
Guests enjoyed an afternoon of fashion and fun, including an exciting silent auction of over 200 designer handbags, which were donated by top designers including Chanel, Gucci and Louis Vuitton and celebs Selena Gomez, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Aniston, Kris Jenner, and Miranda Kerr. The event also featured a runway show from Roberto Cavalli, a live auction, awards and more.
Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease that affects over 1.5 million Americans. Lupus LA is a leading nonprofit health organization dedicated to finding the causes of and a cure for lupus, while providing support, services to those affected by lupus. Since 2000, Lupus LA has raised over $10,000,000 dollars for the cause, primarily through special events including the LA Marathon, Orange Ball, Hollywood Bag Ladies Luncheon and MBJAM, featuring Lupus LA Ambassador Michael B. Jordan.
