Country music fans filled Great Park Live for an energetic night of live entertainment as multi-platinum country artist Billy Currington delivered a hit-filled concert at Irvine’s rapidly growing outdoor music venue. The performance highlighted why Great Park Live has quickly become one of the top destinations for live music in Orange County, drawing crowds for major concerts, festivals and family-friendly entertainment events throughout Southern California.
Known for blending laid-back country sounds with chart-topping radio hits, Currington brought a mix of nostalgic favorites and newer music to the Irvine stage. Fans sang along to some of the singer’s biggest country music anthems, including “People Are Crazy,” “Good Directions,” “Must Be Doin’ Somethin’ Right,” “Do I Make You Wanna” and “We Are Tonight.” His smooth vocals and beach-inspired country style created a high-energy atmosphere that carried throughout the evening, reinforcing his reputation as one of modern country music’s most consistent hitmakers. Opening the evening was Lauren Alaina, who energized the Irvine crowd with her powerhouse vocals, fan-favorite country hits and charismatic stage presence ahead of Billy Currington’s headlining set.
The concert also spotlighted the continued growth of Great Park Live as a premier outdoor concert venue in California. Located within the expansive Great Park in Irvine, the venue has expanded its footprint and entertainment offerings as part of a major push to position the destination as a leading hub for live music, festivals and community programming. The venue recently announced a series of major upgrades, including an expanded standing-room capacity of up to 10,000 guests and newly approved multi-stage festival capabilities that will allow for larger immersive music experiences in the future.
Great Park Live’s growing 2026 entertainment lineup reflects the venue’s broad appeal across genres and audiences. Upcoming concerts and events include Queen Nation on June 5, Wynonna Judd and Melissa Etheridge on July 12, and Lee Brice on July 26. The venue will also host Total Vibez Live on Sept. 12, featuring performances by Keyshia Cole, Mario, Pretty Ricky and 112. The festival-style event will bring together early-2000s R&B and hip-hop nostalgia alongside food vendors, drinks and immersive entertainment experiences.
