With coronavirus still at large and social distancing rules still in order, many businesses, restaurants, and retail stores are slowly starting to reopen. Each of these businesses have implemented a “No mask, no entry” rule as well as other new guidelines to ensure a safe environment for all its employees and customers. Face masks have become the new normal for people around the world.
Face masks are currently the biggest trend as we all try to adapt and continue on with our daily lives as safely as possible. Several designers, clothing brands and boutiques have released masks that are both reusable and trendy! Who says you can’t look fashionable and be safe at the same time? Established in 2013 by co-founders Shaan Sethi and Dr. Neela Sethi, Jaanuu is a company featuring contemporary medical workwear, fashion forward scrubs and lab coats. McKenzie Liautaud
Mckenzie Liautaud is a Brooklyn based Haitan American designer. His pieces have been worn by celebrities such as Shakira, Will. I. Am, Rosario Dawson, Eva Longoria and Kelly Ripa. Mckenzie draws inspiration from his travels around the globe. And has designed men’s accessories including bespoke bow ties and hand finished pocket squares along with women’s jewelry.
He has released a collection of unique face masks created from cotton African Ankara prints that come in a variety of prints including a “mommy and me” collection. He felt inspired to help his family and friends who are essential workers and wanted to make people smile again. Mckenzie’s goal is to “bring balance and harmony to the world” as he builds a conscious brand. For every set of five masks sold, he will provide five masks directly to essential workers in his community. Mckenzie’s #GetMasked initiative ensures that he will bring safe and stylish masks to both consumers and front line workers in his local community.
