Pared Eyewear, the Australian Fashion Council and Flaunter recently launched the retail initiative, AUSSIE KIOSK at Platform in Culver City, Los Angeles. The launch event kicked off the month-long pop-up through September 30, bringing some of the best Aussie brands to the states showcasing labels including Acler, Pared Eyewear, Fella Swim & Innika Choo.
Known for its design detail and quirkier frame shapes including oversized square frames, cat eye and square frames, Pared Eyewear is true to its name – a collection of handmade sunglasses grounded in the fundamentals of clean lines, smooth shapes and lasting comfort. Creative director Samantha Stevenson’s organic, sensory approach to design takes cues from travel, art and architecture. Collections come in a variety of colorways from tortoiseshell to blush and are inspired by places, memories and eras that evoke endless summers and eternal blue skies.
Pared has established a cult following amongst style influencers, artists and celebrities across the globe, with notable collaborations this season including a Rocky Barnes collaboration. Known for balancing a commitment to wearability with pushing the boundaries of conventional design, Pared collections are always anticipated for their quality and individuality. Pared Eyewear has been spotted on celebs including Beyonce and Solange Knowles, Suki Waterhouse, Cara Delevingne, Kaia Gerber and Helena Christensen.
Founder of Aussie Kiosk & Pared Eyewear Ed Baker said, “We are so excited to have everyone gathered here to show off some great Aussie brands and bring them to the States at a progressive retail space like Platform. It is always tough launching in new markets, the Aussie Kiosk concept is a way for emerging and established Australian designers to expand their footprint in a ‘collective’ environment.”
