Two Neighbors, a Palestinian-Israeli fashion brand, is bringing two countries together through fashion to breaking barriers. The company pairs Israeli designers and seamstresses with traditional Palestinian embroiderers to create handmade dresses, Italian leather bags, and other fashion-forward accessories. Each item is handmade by women in Palestine and Israel who have come together through fashion to promote peace and collaboration in the region. Combining their efforts and cultures, each unique piece in the collection unites traditional Palestinian embroidery with modern fabrics and styles to create a variety of contemporary designs.
Up Until the 1940s, traditional Palestinian costumes reflected a woman’s economic and marital status and her town or district of origin, with knowledgeable observers discerning this information from the material, color and embroidery motifs. At Two Neighbors, they take traditional embroidery shapes and update them to make modern garments that can be worn by diverse women around the world.
Two Neighbors continues to create jobs and extend a pathway of peace through fashion with the mission to empower women and create positive bonds between women from Palestine and Israel. The average piece of embroidery for a garment provides enough income to help feed a family of 5 for a week in the Palestine villages.
