Pulling together a look with a bold bag or putting a spin on army fatigue will have guys looking super chic and possibly outdoing the ladies this season. Here’s our roundup of the hottest menswear fashion trends for spring/summer 2017. By Monique Wise, Wanderlust My Way
Men’s accessories may be a tad more muted compared to women, but that doesn’t mean that men can’t make a bold statement. Take singer/songwriter Pharrell, for instance. He’s been known to tote around a stylish bag or two. Backpacks are the perfect piece to make a bland outfit expressive and memorable. Gucci, Balenciaga, and Prada are just a few designers to send these hot packs down the runaway during New York Fashion Week. This season, elevate your street style by copping a cool, solid colored bag with a funky shape or a conventional backpack with a crazy print.
Cropped Pants
First it was the slim fit pant and now it’s all about taking a little length off the hem. Cropped pants are totally in this season. Catch the look on NBA ballers such as Dwyane Wade and Amare Stoudemaire. These pants are an easy transition into summer and into fall.
Stripes
The striped spring/summer fashion trend is so hot, it made both our men’s and women’s lists. Alexander Wang, Gucci and Lou Dalton are just a few designers that took this trend and ran with it. Want to take it up a notch? Mix your stripes. Pair a pinstriped shirt with a boldly striped sweater around the waist or wear them together and you’ll be looking like your outfit was plucked straight from the runway.
Camouflage
Camouflage is a trend that may never disappear, and we aren’t mad at that. We saw cool camo coats on the Saint Laurent and Givenchy runway and plenty of camo pants in collections by Bottega Veneta and Valentino. Camouflage has long been a staple in the wardrobe of celebs like Kanye West and Drake. This design can be ultra-chic or super chill.
Parkas
Just because it’s getting warmer, doesn’t mean there can’t be chilly days or nights this season. Light parkas are the go to outerwear trend for men this right now and they couldn’t be more fashionable. Feng Chen Wang, Prada and Boohoo MAN have put their spin on this jacket and we’re loving it! They can be practical and functional or provide that pop of color that makes your entire outfit that much better. Go with a patterned or specially designed parka and basic tee combination. Pair them both with jeans for an effortless look.
