UCLA Jonsson Cancer Center Foundation (JCCF) held their 22nd annual Taste for a CURE event at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel on April 28. The goal, to raise money for UCLA’s highest priority cancer research. Hosted by Angela Basset, the event honored Yael and Scooter Braun, who received the Gil Nickel Humanitarian Award for their dedication to high priority cancer research and humanitarian efforts. Other celebs in attendance included Jussie Smollet, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Fred Savage, and Yara Shahidi.
The epicurean culinary team delivered a unique twist on the California experience by preparing tantalizing dishes from The District by Hannah An, Locanda del Lago, and The Beverly Wilshire. Guests enjoyed delicious wine tastings, sensational cuisine, a live auction, and surprise performances from Ariana Grande and comedian Jerrod Carmichael.
Over the past 21 years, the event has raised funds totaling over $11 million for highest priority cancer research at UCLA. Founded in 1945, The UCLA JCCF supports a number of high priority cancer research efforts targeted on converting laboratory discoveries into more effective therapies for cancer patients. This foundation is recognized as an international leader in the discovery of new and better ways to prevent, detect, and treat cancer.
