Thirst Project hosted its 8th Annual Thirst Gala at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California to raise awareness and funds to end the global water crisis. The event which took place April 18, included special musical performances by multi-platinum selling pop artist Andy Grammer and wife Aijia Grammer. It also featured music from Grammy-award winning band OK Go. Other celebs in attendance included Drake Bell, Tahj Mowry, Monique Coleman, and Charisma Carpenter.

During the event, actors Laura Marano and Shane Harper awarded three high school students with the Power of Youth Award for going above and beyond with their dedication to raising funds and awareness to end the global water crisis.

“Thirst Project realizes young people have gifts that make them perfectly situated to save the world,” Harper said. Marano added, “We are passionate, energetic, innovative, and we are connected. These are the gifts that the Power of Youth Award recognizes.”

The world’s largest youth water organization, Thirst Project is a a nonprofit organization that travels across the United States speaking at schools to educate students about the global water crisis. All student and public donations raised go directly to funding freshwater wells on the ground in developing nations and impoverished communities. The goal is to provide people with safe, clean water. In just eight years, Thirst Project has raised $8 million to provide more than 320,000 people in 13 countries safe, clean drinking water.
