Natsumi Tapas Brings Creative Fusion Cuisine to Gramercy

on December 10, 2016 |
Food & Drinks Lifestyle

Nestled on the corner of a booming block in Midtown East, Manhattan is Natsumi Tapas. Natsumi was brought to the Gramercy area by none other than acclaimed restaurateur, Barbara Matsumura. The focus of Natsumi is small plates, allowing patrons to sample several dishes, and larger plates for sharing. This makes it the perfect place for singles and groups alike.

After being inspired by her travels to Italy, Matsumura decided to fuse both Japanese and Italian flavors for this unique dining experience. The menu features perfectly portioned plates that use only the highest quality ingredients. Choose from cold tapas such as Spicy Sunomono and Seafood Ceviche, or hot plates such as the popular Blue Crab Dumplings or Ginger Citrus Duck Breast. The dessert menu also features some distinctive items that you won’t easily find elsewhere such as Tartufoes or Banana Spring Rolls.

Like their menu, Natsumi Tapas’ beverage program, designed by General Manager Shawn Tomassi, is anything but ordinary. The Blue Bird Martini, Ginger Cosmo, and Natsumi Sling are just a few of their exclusive cocktails. You can also find traditional beverages such as a variety of cold and warm sakes in addition to both domestic and imported beers.

It’s no wonder that Barbara Matsumura has earned the title of accomplished Gastropreneur. Natsumi Tapas goes above and beyond to give patrons a noteworthy experience that’s sure to have them return again and again.
