The M·A·C Cosmetics Melrose Avenue store celebrated their grand opening on December 9 with a visually explosive event, M·A·C AVAF (Astounding Vital Audacious Fantastic), in collaboration with the art collective “Assume Vivid Astro Focus,” which featured an array of international visual and performance artists. M·A·C Senior Artists Caroline Donnelley and Ashley Rudder was on-site doing four exclusive live body paintings, which included 3D accessories created by the AVAF art collective.
Guests enjoyed extravagantly costumed models, high-energy performers, brightly colored installations, thrilling music as well as makeup applications. After receiving makeup applications, guests had the opportunity to step onto an explosive photo backdrop where M·A·C’s exclusive augmented reality app transformed them into a dynamic finished image. The store has total square footage is 886 square feet with two floors of display windows.
