This month, Hulu is inviting TV and film fans to “check in to their obsessions” in a new marketing campaign centered around the Hulu Motel – a destination designed for the most obsessed viewers. No matter if fans are pop culture aficionados or reality TV junkies, whether their watch list is filled with adult animation or critically-acclaimed dramas, the Hulu Motel is open to everyone. No questions. No judgment.
The campaign kicked off with a national :30 second, and series of :15 second, ad spots, that take viewers on a tour of the motel, from the crowded lobby with patrons desperate to get in, through a series of themed rooms, all sprinkled with easter eggs. Additional spots will be unveiled soon. The virtual motel is inspired by Hulu’s vast library of content including nods to The Handmaid’s Tale, Only Murders in the Building, Bob’s Burgers, Atlanta, The Great, The Kardashians, Mayans M.C., Fire Island, and many more favorites!
As part of its ongoing commitment to delivering unique, immersive experiences for its fans, Hulu will bring the Hulu Motel to life in Los Angeles on June 23 from 7-10pm, and June 24-25 from 5-10pm. Taking over the historic Sportsmen’s Lodge Hotel, Hulu is inviting fans to shed their fandom inhibitions and celebrate with like-minded viewers as they navigate the motel lobby, rooms, and pool area, uncovering more and more easter eggs along the way. The cost of admission is free, but interested guests must reserve tickets*, which are available on a first-come, first-serve basis HERE. While there will be food and beverages available on-site for purchase, visitors must return home to get a good night’s sleep (or continue binge watching – who are we to decide?).
