Hot August Nights Returns for its 34th Celebration!
Hot August Nights, the week-long celebration dedicated to classic cars and classic music, returns for its 34th year starting July 30, 2021. Picking up from the 2020 postponement, since 1986 thousands of classic cars and car lovers from near and far descend on the Reno-Tahoe region to participate in one of the largest annual classic car events in the world.
The must-attend event kicks off Friday, July 30 in the historic mining town of Virginia City, Nevada, located 23 miles from the Reno-Tahoe International Airport. The main street is lined with registered cars for a Classic Car Show-n-Shine for spectators of all ages followed by a late afternoon cruise and an awards presentation Saturday, July 31.
The main 2021 event in Reno-Sparks starts Tuesday, Aug. 3 and continuing through Sunday, Aug. 8 with the final cruise in downtown Reno, known as the grand finale parade beginning at 10 a.m.
Official registered cars are capped at 6,000 for the main Reno-Sparks event with currently less than 2,000 available spots open and the Virginia City kickoff is sold out with 400 registered classic cars. Car registration for the Reno-Sparks portion remains open until the limit is reached. Register online at HotAugustNights.net. Pending availability, onsite registration takes place at the Silver State Pavilion located inside the Grand Sierra Resort for locals starting Monday, Aug. 2 and is open to all walk-ins Tuesday, Aug. 3.
