Academy Awards
The 89th Academy Awards, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, was held on February 26, 2017, at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. On Hollywood’s biggest night of the year, Moonlight claimed three wins including the best picture win after a shocking Oscar flub and for breakout star Mahershala Ali in the supporting actor category. La La Land won in six categories, including best director for Damien Chazelle and best actress for Emma Stone. Casey Affleck took home the win for best actor for Manchester by the Sea while Fences star Viola Davis picked up the honor for supporting actress. Swarovski celebrated its 10th year illuminating the Oscars stage with over 300,000 crystals in the most spectacular set design to date. Swarovski also brought conscious luxury to the Oscars red carpet with its first Atelier Swarovski Fine Jewelry collection debut as part of the Red Carpet Green Dress initiative, worn by Emma Roberts and Priyanka Bose.
MPTF’s ‘Night Before’ Party
The ‘Night Before’ party, held annually the night before the Academy Awards has become one of the most coveted invitations in town since its inception. A star-studded host committee, Academy Awards nominees and presenters were in attendance including Amy Adams, Casey Affleck, Jessica Biel, Justin Timberlake, George Clooney, Tom Cruise, Matt Damon, Viola Davis, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jake Gyllenhaal, Natalie Portman, Will Smith, Emma Stone, Reese Witherspoon, Adrien Brody, Lily Collins, Ava DuVernay, Michael J. Fox, Salma Hayek, Katie Holmes, Vanessa Hudgens, Zoe Kravitz, Ruth Negga, Thandie Newton, Abigail Spencer and more. The event raised $5 million to support MPTF in providing social services and financial assistance to the entertainment community.

Debbie Durkin’s EcoLuxe Lounge
Debbie Durkin’s EcoLuxe luxury lounge honored the 2017 Oscar nominees at the Beverly Hills Hotel benefiting Autism Changes. Guests in attendance included Adrienne Bailon, Gilles Marini, Drake Bell and This Is Us co-stars. Piper-Sonoma champagne flowed and the lounge included a brunch curated by Beverly Hilton chef, Chef Alberico. Guests enjoyed wine tastings courtesy of Un Joyau Majestueux, pampering in the OC Makeup And Beauty Bar, received luxury luggage from Chariot Travelware, styled by fashion designer Dena Burton Collections and relaxed in all-natural beds by Hastens LA. Mercedes-Benz & ICON MANN Viewing Party
Mercedes-Benz hosted their annual Oscar Viewing Party in partnership with ICON MANN at the Four Seasons Beverly Hills. Guests in attendance enjoyed watching the live broadcast of the show, snapping photos in The Bosco photo booth while others received glam touch ups courtesy of GlamSquad and AJ Crimson Beauty products. The stunning new Mercedes-Maybach S650 Cabriolet also made its red carpet debut and shared the stage with the impressive list of Hollywood talent. Celebs in attendance included Tracee Ellis Ross, Adrienne Bailon, J. Alexander, Kandi Burruss, Lamorne Morris, Lorraine Toussaint, NeNe Leakes, Anika Noni Rose and many more.
Circus Magazine Oscar Celebration
Circus Magazine, the new film media outlet from Steve Shaw, presented the Oscars luxurious black-tie party at the private residence of Jonas Tåhlin, CEO Absolut Elyx. Over 500 guests were in attendance including Paris Hilton and her new beau at their first event together along with Skrillex and many others. Other partners for the event included Volvo who provided a fleet of new vehicles to escort guests to the venue, and Vaseline who provided the photo booth for guests to take ‘old Hollywood’ style photos as a memento of the night.

CÎROC Vodka partnered with Los Angeles Confidential to roll out the red carpet for award winning actress and singer/songwriter Janelle Monáe at Palihouse West Hollywood. The event, which honored Monáe and her hustle to the top of the charts and the box office, celebrated Monáe’s two breakout roles beginning with portraying Teresa in “Moonlight” and co-starring in “Hidden Figures” as Mary Jackson – both films earning her multiple awards and nominations. Oscar Wilde Awards
Hollywood’s Irish, and Irish-for-a-night, raised a pint in celebration of the 12th Annual Oscar Wilde Awards held at Bad Robot in Santa Monica. Emceed by J.J. Abrams, the evening feted honorees including Academy Award nominated Ruth Negga, Caitriona Balfe, Martin Short, Zachary Quinto, and Glen Hansard. Award recipients were presented with a stunning Hawke + Axel award — a hand blow eternal flame with a green ribbon running through it. Global Green and FLAUNT’s #StandForGreen Oscar Event
FLAUNT partnered with Global Green for their 14th annual pre-Oscar fundraiser at the new TAO in Hollywood. The event honored Tribal Chairman of the Standing Rock Indian Reservation, David Archambault II, among others. Various high profile attendees gave speeches, including an impassioned oration about Standing Rock by legendary activist and Hollywood star Jane Fonda. Women In Film Pre-Oscar Cocktail Party
Women In Film hosted their 10th annual pre-Oscar cocktail party presented by Max Mara and BMW. The event was hosted by Brie Larson and Cathy Schulman. During the evening’s program remarks, WIF President Cathy Schulman called up Oscar nominees Meryl Streep and Ava DuVernay who joined her on-stage and gave impromptu remarks. Attendees included 89th Oscar nominees Ai-Ling Lee, Ava DuVernay, Viggo Mortensen, Emma Stone, Viola Davis and other nominees. Additional attendees included Alysia Reiner, Anika Noni Rose, Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Keegan-Michael Key, Zoë Kravitz and more.
