The Girls Rock Camp Foundation, a non-profit organization that helps to fund over 45 Girls Rock Camps across the United States, hosted its first annual “Girls To The Front” benefit at the Chateau Marmont on April 29 in Hollywood. Hosted by Rachel Bloom, the event included a special performance by indie rock sensation HAIM, who performance favorites including “The Wire” and “Honey & I” off their 2013 debut Days Are Gone, finishing with a special cover of Fleetwood Mac’s classic “Dreams.”
Guests enjoyed a VIP seated dinner followed by a cocktail reception where, Hailee Steinfeld introduced honorees Justin Tranter & Julia Michaels, the in-demand songwriting duo who are behind hit songs including Justin Beiber’s “Sorry” and Selena Gomez’s “Good For You”; while musician Miguelintroduced honoree Ethiopia Habtemariam, Motown Records/President of Urban Music.
At Girls Rock Camps, girls learn to find and amplify their creative voices in a fun, supportive environment, building confidence that extends to every area of their lives. Funds raised through the organization help to aid educational programming, site improvements, and scholarship initiatives to make Girls Rock Camps more accessible to girls from all economic backgrounds.
