Leading Ladies Honored at Variety Power of Women New York Luncheon
The Variety Power of Women New York luncheon celebrated powerful women in the world of entertainment for their philanthropic contributions. Honorees included Susan Sarandon for her work with the organization Hope North, Sarah Jessica Parker for the New York City Ballet, Claire Danes for Afghan Hands, Idina Menzel for A Broader Way, and Iman for the Dr. Hawa Abdi Foundation. Held at Cipriani Midtownon on April 25, 2014, Variety gathered an intimate group of the entertainment industry’s most philanthropic women, who were selected as Variety’s “Inspiration Impact Honorees” for their humanitarian efforts and making a significant difference to their chosen causes.
The exclusive luncheon hosted three-hundred invite-only guests comprised of entertainment and media insiders, who came to celebrate, support and pay tribute to the philanthropic efforts of these amazing women. The afternoon also included VIP pre- and post-ceremony cocktail receptions, with an interactive “Philanthropy Bazaar” designed to engage guests with the featured charities and participating brand sponsors, including FYI, HTC One, American Airlines, Crystal Light, Movado and NYDJ.
